Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actress. Her most famous role is was that of Teri her passionate lawyer Teri Jospehson in the Showtime TV series Soul Food. In the years following her marriage, she is also known as Nikki Kodjoe. Her birthplace and childhood was within Baltimore Maryland. In her early years as an infant, she showed an interest in acting and was awarded the Best Actress Award in an Maryland High School Contest. The path to acting began when she joined the Washington Ballet Company and the theater. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love, her debut performance in a major film, was a huge success and earned her the admiration of many. Contractor Born in Mumbai in India she was raised in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She was already exposed to many different travels and cultures from a early age. She attended boarding school in London between the ages of seven and nine years old, then her family relocated towards Toronto, Canada, where she lived the bulk of her childhood and young adulthood. Contractor was an outstanding scholar in Toronto and was educated to become an expert ballet dancer. In the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school specializing in arts), Contractor studied both ballet and theater. Contractor took the decision to study acting more seriously at the age 16 after almost 10 years of dancing. When she completed her high school education, she was awarded an all-inclusive scholarship to the University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed an MA in Theatre, and also double majored with sociology and psychology. Contractor landed her first role following her first year at university. She received rave reviews for her performances during the 92 performances that in the production. It was also voted the production of the year by Canadian critics in 2002. Contractor accepted the offer to attend Stratford's Conservatory program. The Conservatory has only 8 men and four females are admitted for the 20-week course in the classical theatre. Her place was guaranteed in the next series of plays as she was offered the character for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
